“Many great and edifying relationships are built online, but the internet is also where misogynistic rhetoric and violence subcultures are doing the most damage to the next generation. . . loneliness, dislocation, and anomie can only be detoxed from our minds with real, human love and connection.”

MPD cop: Is it a GSA (General Services Administration) building?
DOGE lawyer: It's not.
Trump's USIP president: Private building, and that's why we need MPD. If it were GSA, it would be very simple.

3. We've heard so much about the way DOGE operated, but rarely have we gotten to actually see it up close. This clip reveals the entitlement Trump's USIP president and the DOGE team felt heading into the privately-owned building on the day of the raid:

His reputation is in tatters.
This reckoning is long overdue, and not just because of his relationship with Epstein & treatment of women

Here's a thread featuring clips of key moments from the DC Metropolitan Police body camera footage of the March 17, 2025 DOGE raid on the US Institute of Peace that I obtained as a result of my FOIA lawsuit:

Good to hear.
I went through the Hargrave papers looking for other ms case records, but was really impressed by the range of that collection.

If you don't already, watch Colbert. He is a man with no more f*cks left to give. And it's glorious.

Check out this song parody from last night's show: Mike Johnson Delays House Epstein Vote Until September

Exciting.
The Francis Hargrave collection at the BL might have something on Calvin’s case.
He collected hundreds of ms and was of course one of the two main lawyers in the Somerset case.
I think there are about 500? There must be a ms. guide even if the online catalog is still not working.

Holy shit. These people shouldn’t be near sharp cutlery, let alone seats of power.

Mullin: “This is war.”

Raju: “You concede this is war?”

Mullin: “We haven’t declared war.”

Reporter: “You just said it’s a war.”

Mullin: *stammer

President Trump threatens Iran:

Ar I, Sec. 8, Cl. 11:
The Congress shall have Power . . . To declare War.

Is this a war?
Obviously.

Has Congress declared it?
Obviously not.

Is it illegal?
Gosh, no one has Art III standing, so the answer is unknowable.

(Correct answer: something is obviously wrong with standing doctrine).

Trump did not announce a U.S. policy then walk it back. That is not what happened, and media presenting it that way does a disservice.

Trump said words he thought might appeal to his audience in the moment, with no connection to actual policy, then did that again with a different question/asker.

Historian here Greg Sargent is right. A war of obliteration without purpose one that tanks our economy and destroys American hegemony, even our allies are not happy to put it mildly. Trump was truly sent to destroy the republic.

Keir Starmer faces one of his biggest rebellions over jury trial cuts The PM and David Lammy have tried to quell dissent, but dozens of Labour MPs are thought to be ready to vote against plans intended to clear the court backlog

Keir Starmer faces one of his biggest rebellions over jury trial cuts and rightly so.

Labour MPs must see through his outrageously dishonest propaganda pieces and VOTE AGAINST this shameful constitutional vandalism

If you are watching Trump's presser right now, you are seeing beyond reasonable doubt a person not mentally suited for any position of responsibility. Even running a small store.

GOP members of the House and Senate: You are seeing this too.

Reporter: You just suggested that Iran somehow got its hands on a tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school on the first day of the war. But you're the only person in your government saying this. Why?

Trump: Because I just don't know enough about it.

It feels like Spring 2020. Informed people saw the Covid virus coming. I warned students Japan had closed its schools & that this was possible in the US. We bought groceries for a possible lock down while the clerk looked at us like we were crazy. Then over spring break the whole world changed.

Thinking particularly of the role he played as Treasury Secretary under Obama in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
He helped to make sure there was no accountability—
