Let's go Tigers!
Ah, bummer that Home Run couldnβt get it done. Heβs one of my faves. Missed two full seasons (contract hold out, looking after his kids after wife passed) and each time, his ability took a stair step down. One of the best, that probably could have been better.
@apbareplay.bsky.social played 1981 recently, so I don't want to redo that.
As for your guess...
Good news T-Mobile people - set an alarm for the 24th to get your free MLBTV again!
haha, looks like someone has already done that

Definitely an APBA project
haha, not sure the stilt batting would translate to dice
It DOES take place in 1974
Not quite. In fact, I am almost certainly NOT going to be playing the game where he hits 715
OK, now I'm looking for any guesses as to what my next APBA project is. Obviously, my posts this week are HUGE clues. Let me know what you think!
Itβs a great post!
yep. Pretty sure I've used Agee as a Dodger before
In other December moves, the Philadelphia Phillies;
12.14.73; released RP Darrell 'Bucky' Brandon
12.19.73; signed IF Tony Taylor, who had been released by the Detroit Tigers
Well, Osteen was a starter. in 1973 he was 16-11 with a 3.31 ERA. In 1972, he was 20-11, with a 2.64 ERA. This trade makes more sense (to me) than the Larry Dierker for Milt May trade.
Jim Wynn had just finished a season where he hit .220 with 55 RBI.
Then, after the Winter Meetings, the only other significant MLB action was;
12.11.73; Chicago Cubs traded Ron Santo across town to the Chicago White Sox for Steve Stone, Ken Frailing & Steve Swisher

In the biggest other moves of the 1973 Winter Meetings;
12.5.73; Los Angeles Dodgers traded OF Willie Davis to the Montreal Expos for RP Mike Marshall
12.6.73; Los Angeles Dodgers traded SP Claude Osteen to the Houston Astros for OF Jim Wynn
During the December 1973 Winter Meetings, the Philadelphia Phillies made three moves;
12.3.73; Traded only 1973 All-Star, Barry Lersch, with Craig Robinson to Atlanta Braves for Ron Schueler
12.7.73; Purchased Eddie Watt from the Baltimore Orioles
12.7.73; Sold CΓ©sar Tovar to the Texas Rangers
During the December 1973 Winter Meetings, the Red Sox made two moves;
12.7.73; purchased Juan Marichal from the SF Giants
12.7.73; Got Reggie Cleveland, Diego Segui & Terry Hughes from STL Cardinals for John Curtis, Mike Garman & Lynn McGlothen
Rangers winning the series 18-16
I was at that no-hitter!
Congrats on earning the full pension!
In other November MLB Trades, Cubs & Padres were busy;
11.3.73; Cubs trade Bob Locker to A's for Horacio PiΓ±a
11.7.73; Cubs trade Glenn Beckert to Padres for Jerry Morales
11.9.73; Padres trade Clay Kirby to Reds for Bobby Tolan & Dave Tomlin
During a relatively quiet November 1973, the Philadelphia Phillies made one trade. On 11.7.73, they traded Billy Wilson to the Milwaukee Brewers for Frank Linzy.
Wilson would be released during 1974 Spring Training, while 1974 would be Linzy's final year.
No 1974 card for either player.
Thanks for following! Made it so much more enjoyable to stick with it having great guys like you following along.
