damn rejection is so good
merano is baffling, showoffy, almost a parody of purposeless pretension. If it doesn’t kick off the revival drenched in stage light sunrise, I’m going to kill myself.
i've got a phrase stuck in my head, and it's "john proctor is the doctor"

Beastars season 3 is very good, I know this isn’t important and the world is ending and this is for an audience of zero even among my followers but I still need to post it because of my mental illness.
The last five years but it’s an Otessa Moshfegh style essayist who pens a hit autofiction novel and then cucks her loser actor boyfriend who can’t book anything but summerstock.
The Brutalist is if you tried to imitate the best bits of The Master and There Will Be Blood but your dialogue has gone through google translate and you use heroin, holocaust and rape as character traits. Gripping opening scene but then there’s 3+ hours after it.
god I wish I could read a really excellent pan of the brutalist
Got to see suffs tonight
@jakebeckhard.bsky.social said something (on a soccer podcast) about how broadway is just becoming ip works because it’s most accessible to tourists (put much more eloquently) and it’s seeming more and more true every announcement
And a couple months later I got to do my Greeks again with an unfortunately very timely The Trojan Women with the Atlantic Acting School.
Then at the end of the summer Ian Reid let me direct his sweet sad intelligent ode to the end of summer in the city, “Heaven is a place in the sky” produced by Trove Collective.
Then in April we did Will Eno’s “Middletown” at the Atlantic Acting School, which was a huge bucket lister. I used to read Will’s “The Flu Season” every December on my bus ride home for Thanksgiving. Having him visit the cast and talk about the play was a treat.
In February we did Andy Boyd’s “Three Scenes in the Life of a Trotskyist”. David Barbour and others said some nice things about it. I also thought it was pretty good. The cast was brilliant. Ringers, all.
I directed a lot of plays this year, and I’m going to put them in this thread because the nice folks at the @dramaleague.bsky.social put me on a Directors To Follow list, and so far I’ve only posted about soccer and Luigi Mangione and Conclave.
Cuck chair? Haha, no that’s my
