A man with long blonde hair and glasses arranges a plate of food from an elaborate charcuterie spread featuring meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and wine bottles. The setup includes barrels and greenery, with people and wine glasses visible in the background.
Bob Zellner, wearing a name tag and βVOTEβ button, smiles as he talks to a woman in a decorative brown jacket and black face mask. They are seated in a warmly lit room with other attendees conversing in the background.
Senator Doug Jones, dressed in a dark blazer, speaks while being filmed by someone holding a small camera. The setting is an indoor event with people and blue balloons visible in the background.
An old black pickup truck with βSouthern Grove Vineyardβ painted on the door is artfully parked among vibrant flowers and stone landscaping at the entrance of a vineyard. Three wine barrels sit in the truck bed, and a modern building is visible in the background on a cloudy day.

Former U.S. Senator Doug Jones and his wife Louise Jones stand smiling with members of the Baldwin County Democrats Executive Board in front of double glass doors adorned with floral wreaths. Federal court: Alabama Legislature intentionally discriminated against Black voters in redistricting | Alabama Reflector
A federal court ruled that the Alabama Legislature intentionally discriminated against Black voters by approving a 2023 congressional district map.
Via @alander.bsky.social: The three-judge panel ruled that a map approved by the Legislature under court orders in 2023 "intentionally perpetuate(d) the discriminatory effects" of a prior map. The court said it would consider a motion to put the state under preclearance for future redistricting.

Whew. #Alabama legislative session is almost over. Chin up y'all. We gotta survive this a bit longer. The work waits. The state has some promising candidates popping up throughout. The best thing we can do to fight poor legislation is to uplift and elect people who represent us and our interest. βοΈ
