I lived in the high desert Mojave in the 1990s as a dependent military child when my father was stationed at George AFB (closed) And all of these fragrances bring back such evocative memories of what that area smells like throughout the seasons. It's breaking my heart, what's happening there.

also only eight pounds? Edward has hit nearly 18. When we take her to the vet the argue about whether or not she should be on the "large cat breed" version of the feline BMI. I wish she'd stayed small! So does she, she used to nap under my chin, and now she can't do that!

this is probably true. Tali is very discerning about who she likes, and she tries to climb in Richard's luggage whenever he visits.
Tali is the tiny grey baby cat (...15 yo) who is sprawled in front of the cat food and water tray desperately pointing her paws at where her wet food dishes are even though there is wet food in them because today she does not want that kind. (Not pictured the dry food she likes and they free feed).

very much so! In the winter now (only as of about her fourth year though) her belly fur can drag on the floor (and then because she likes to have her belly rubbed I am like WHAT IS THIS AND WHERE DID IT COME FROM).

Edward is half maine coon (verified, her parents owners were coworkers of my mother, dad is a purebred show/stud, mom was an adopted stray). She is 6 this year, and she is a black/gray/brown/cream tabby. We joke she balances out to gray. She didn't hit Max Puff until her fourth winter.

A long time ago, in a far away land (known as Florida) a lad created a comedy parody account known as "Naked Bob Dole" and I for some reason invite this lad into my home at least one a year for an extended visit (bc the cat likes him).
