Also itβs trippy watching someone play through Helldivers 2 right now.

Like different music? Celebrate God in a different way? You have to go. At least enough of you do so they can live their lives in ignorance of you.
Thatβs why the Spanish during the Super Bowl bothered them so much.
But darlings, Iβm not going anywhere. Many have tried.
I need to scream at the void for a moment.
This whole belief that unity is at odds with diversity is them saying the quiet part out loud.
They donβt see folks like me to be the same as them because of say my gender. They canβt see it because of their bias. Therefore I must go.
My son was so excited during the Stranger Things finale (he just finished) that he was just about bouncing off the walls.
Screenshot of Apple News where headlines describe Bovino leaving Minnesota and potentially being removed from his role.
Well look at that
Bovinoβs disregard of the First Amendment sure is a choice that will have consequences.
So my son had his third session of D&D at a gaming store (the second without me). He had a blast. He fought his first roper, is still on the hunt for Vecna, and hopefully he'll be able to do it again soon.
Today was the first time we dropped our son off at a gaming store to play D&D. He super enjoyed it and played a Goliath paladin.
Cabinet with doors open holding games, most aimed at a younger audience.
One built, two more to go. Might be able to get most of our board games into the living room!!!
Cover of Monster, She Wrote with a tea latte in a cozy mug.
Almost halfway through Monster, She Wrote: The Women Who Pioneered Horror & Speculative Fiction by Lisa KrΓΆger and Melanie R. Anderson. Love it, especially after reading The Bewitching.
Also enjoying a Woodland Latte at Miro, in Ballard. β€οΈ
I have a knack of discovering things. Tuesday I walked for a mile+ in hopes of seeing the sun set behind the mountains and ended up at restaurant perfect for my husband.
Today I decided to turn left before the gps wanted me to and found an art supply store that hadnβt come up when I searched.
The novel reminded me of the stories my mom would tell, from her Italian and Slavic background, of witches and of her gifts of foresight and warnings. Which of course nurtured in me a love of horror (especially the type Moreno-Garcia writes) which I now see in my son.
The second is The Bewitching by @silviamg.bsky.social a wonderful book that felt like a warm hug from my mom and made me a bit nostalgic for the time I was in a student at a New England college. The only thing that made me read it in chunks is my now 9 year old who wanted to, you know, do things. :)
Read two books so far this week. The first is The Second Chance Convenience Store by Kim Ho-Yeon, translated by Janet Hong.
Adored the heck out of it. A book of connection from a time of isolation. <3
Covers of Monty Pythonβs Cocurricular Mediaeval Reenactment Programme and Punk is Dead
My son played his first D&D game tonight at an open gaming night at Meeples Games in Seattle. Our DM was amazing. <3
I also picked up these games.
It says a whole lot that in what DriveThruRPG wrote and some defenses of it, the violence is against marginalized identities and/or more extreme than what the intro had.
What an absolute dumpster fire of a statement.
TACO TACO man, heβs just a little TACO man.
TACO every day!
a medieval style digital drawing of an androgynous brown-skinned knight on horseback on a hill, stabbing a long gold spear into a blue dragon on the ground. the knight has a gold halo behind their head and wears a suit of silver armor with a nonbinary flag striped tunic and a trans flag as a cape. their horse is white, with blue tack with trans pride trim. there is black gothic text at the top and bottom of the image reading βA world without trans people has never existed and never will.β thereβs an ornate pale blue border around the image, filled with pink and blue scrollwork, gold hearts filled with colorful flowers, a smiley bat, two smiley moles, and two smiling frogs holding up trans flags.

Nina was criminally underrated. Look at those pages! She was superior to many better known male hacks of the Golden Age.
She quit comics in 1950 just as the witch hunts heated up. Smart move. As I recall she was a magazine illustrator after that, which was a much better, and better paying career.
Also, if you're concerned about personal safety:
History shows that, under fascism, staying passive comes with no better odds of survival than engaging in civil, covert, or even military resistance. So you might as well resist in whatever way your skills, age, ability,.and conscience permit.
I know itβs overwhelming at the moment. Remember each of you are a member of the resistance.
Donβt comply in advance.
Existing. Persisting. Those are acts of rebellion.
You are loved.

On senators falling in line because of death threats:
My mom worked as a cook at a hospital where abortions are performed. People regularly tried to shoot her for "killing babies". She still went and did her job because it needed doing and she had agreed to do it. That's how it works.
