If the alternative is a horrible internal battle then it won’t do anyone any good apart from the opposition.

It strikes me that he should be encouraged if he’s a credible candidate. We need strong leaders now and in the future. Labour leadership should embrace this. He could be a successor to the current administration rather than a replacement. If he’s good enough to start sooner then so be it!

I’ve had a similar but easier issue with those corner style shower gel trays. Who’s have thought that bathroom walls might not be absolutely perfect!

@therestpolitics.bsky.social Gents, slight correction! ASML in the Netherlands makes the machines that make the best chips in the world. Actual chips (using these machines) are made in Taiwan and USA. There is a big push by EU to make more in Europe. Enjoying the podcast, keep it up!

I made amazing friends through the Erasmus scheme. I’d never heard of it before turning up at university and definitely regret not doing it myself. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who can spend some time in a different country.

I once almost drowned on a school trip to a wave pool. I remember just being trapped below the surface, far too exhausted to thrash or even swim. Great stuff! This has sparked some memories. I also volunteered with the Pimlico Connection probably in 1998. I also remember Prof Goodlad giving us a few lectures at some point. I’ve got his book somewhere!
