Tennessee could place some foster youth into jail-like facilities under new bill There aren't enough foster homes to place children in Tennessee. Some fear that a new proposal to put foster kids with serious behavioral issues into jail-like facilities will make things worse.

Tennessee has been housing foster kids in offices just like New Mexico

Now they want to put kids in need of heightened supervision in juvenile detention centers with locked cells & barbed wire outside

Jail is their answer to not having enough foster homes

About half the jail population in Albuquerque is homeless. The county spends about $169 per night to jail inmates without significant medical or mental health needs. Housing individuals in the city’s year-round emergency shelter costs $44 a night.
