Jason Giambi, 9/3/2006 for the Yankees against the Blue Jays!
my bluesky algorithm has become an interesting mixture of some of the coolest people from twitter right alongside a bunch of super old-people-facebook posts. iβll have an stat breakdown of a minor leaguer one post, and the next is βlike and repost if you live your local libraryβ. itβs kinda awesome
not a carolina or clemson fan, have significant beef with both honestly. but how is a violent rivalry game that likely will decide a playofff spot 1) being played at noon and 2) not the easy gameday choice? feels like a big whiff by everyone
one of the great βthis guy canβt start, but what if we put him in the bullpβ holy hellβ
a painful defeat but i concede graciously
Bo Bichette?
the olβ βif you ainβt cheatinβ, you ainβt tryinββ ballot

does this adjust for the temperature of indoor stadiums, or partially indoor stadiums? i thought chase field was kept at 75ish on game days, and it seems odd that the trop is so low considering itβs fully domed
as someone who loves the nerd side of ball but pitched at a high level, thereβs a big disconnect. on the analytic side, weβre quick to dismiss the old heads (usually for good reason), but the reality is somewhere in the middle. my coaching mantra is βtrain new school, play old schoolβ
we are again realizing that pitching is about outs and more complex than βjust K everyone and throw ball hardβ!
great article, particularly enjoyed the comparison of kirby and martinez and the analysis of pitches thrown by count of the latter. hitting is so hard when you canβt predict whatβs coming
working on my first-ever attempt at writing a full-length novel. main takeaway through the first 15,000 words: thereβs a lot of words in a book, huh?
My last article for LTQM talked about the legacy of Mike Marshallβs greatest season and his importance in the modern game. Check it out: lowthreequarter.com/2024/10/23/m...
While Iβm here, if youβve got some time to kill, take a look at my baseball blog, lowthreequarter.com. We put a lot of work into it, and if you like deep cut baseball analysis and/or baseball history (or even just good writing), please check us out!
Hello Bluesky, Iβm Josh. Iβm an English teacher, coach, writer, baseball enjoyer, and former baseballer with a cool elbow scar to prove it. I plan to use this as a stream of consciousness that I probably should keep mental but will share anyway
