Awwww oh no! At least The Mist is a solid standalone story to put in there though. I'd say that story, and Beach World, are probably my favorites in this collection overall. But every single one of these is just so so good.

Listening to the Skeleton Crew audio book, and man I forgot how visceral "The Raft" is. I haven't read this collection for about 28 years, and I cannot believe my brain somehow forgot how this story made me feel. Or maybe it affects me more now? 💙📚

Working for a government agency that is constantly yelling at us about "meeting the moment" during a period where every day there are fresh new hells to deal with has been weighing on me extra hard lately. I am so exhausted.

Here's a look at what I've been reading lately!

For the evening crowd - why not check out my new story up at Nightmare Magazine? It’s got monsters, civil servants, and dogs.

I have figured out the plot twist to this book as of three chapters ago, and now I'm just finishing it because I'm already so close to the ending.

Maybe I just need to re-read The Ritual? I don't know what kind of horror my brain is craving, but I must find it.

This was prompted by a haunted house book, but it's so applicable to so many books I read haha.

I swear, so many plots to horror books could be solved by people just lighting things on fire and yet THEY NEVER DO. Haunted house? Light it on fire. Source of power for a witch? Light it on fire.

This is one thing I very much respect about Supernatural haha.

I was hired to work on a MAJOR live action Hollywood film (and I mean it’s one of the biggest anticipated films of the year). They needed a small animated sequence and wanted a character designer. I was handed a ChatGPT image and told “make it different”. I did - I spent hours finessing the design into something better and more specific for the character in the film. Waited a week for notes - then was told they got clearance from legal to use the original AI image instead. No need for any further work. This is what the director wanted. What are we doing as a society? What’s the endgame here? Replace every human until we are all homeless? I just don’t get it. If a major Hollywood film with a huge budget doesn’t see the need to work with real artists, is there any hope left?

Dude regularly works for Disney, DreamWorks, Netflix and CN so speculate away. But this sucks no matter which studio is doing it, and gross to think some major movie this year is running with a plagiarized image from ChatGPT.
