Ooh, poignant!
Sunny day
Freezing wind and snow
On the ground

ICE is not being held accountable for their actions. I urge you to learn what's going on and do your best to support your friends and neighbors.

We should welcome people with open arms (I know that has not been the case for many groups historically and currently) that's what I want for the United States of America. Not someplace Hispanic people (legal or not) have to fear for their safety, children, and lives - just going to work or school.
No matter where you stand politically it is important to speak out when you see something wrong going on. We can't let history repeat itself again. Hispanic immigrants are people and want a good life for their families. Most people are not here to do anything illegal besides live somewhere safe.
Today with the heavy handed and practically unmonitored use of ICE agents against immigrants and with detention centers that have inadequate care and staff (still family separation) this current history repeats. And at the same time is reminiscent of Japanese Internment in WWII.
In 2018 with the zero tolerance policy, many Hispanic families were and are separated and children of immigrants were placed in detention facilities. 7 children died in (2018) custody due to lack of proper medical care.
It's important to learn and remember history so what went wrong doesn't get repeated. And so when we see the same thing happen again we can stand up to it.

Be safe friends and if you want to talk reach out.
-If you are a U.S. citizen, you can say "I am a U.S. citizen and you do not have authority to arrest or detain me." If they decide to arrest you anyway, you have grounds for a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging unconstitutional detention or arrest."
If you're stopped by ICE... remember:
-Remain calm and do not run away.
-If arrested, you have the right to speak with a lawyer.
-Do not sign anything without the advice of an attorney.
-You have the right to record any interaction with ICE as long as you are not interfering with an arrest
ICE has been weaponized in local communities, conducting raids that have swept up both immigrants (whether here lawfully or not) and American citizens. As more raids are expected across the country, it's important to know your rights and protect yourself.
Your Rights in the United States:
"Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) is meant to preserve American security and public safety, mainly within U.S. borders, by enforcing immigration laws. ICE is responsible for detaining, deporting, and convicting unauthorized immigrants.
