Um, isn't the president complaining about print media, which require no license? SMH.

I think a lot of these are Steven Chang.
I think "helped" is being generous. The CIA paid people to start unrest, which lead to instability. They planted stories in the press. It was a CIA operation from start to finish.
I've been meaning to attend a DSA event. Would this be a good opportunity?
Hmmm. I seem to remember 10 years ago being told a self driving car would take us to work and nobody would drive a car.
Welcome to being poor.

The US has never been able to punish political rule breakers. We want to forget and move on. But we are still connected to that history. And there are a lot of skeletons hiding in that history.
Thanks for posting this. I had no idea this was happening, and I love them. Congrats on the tickets. Have you seen Thelma the Unicorn with Brittany Howard as the lead?
Bahahaha
GenXer here. I graduated college in 1994. It's been a series of bust cycles my entire working life. Dot com, 9/11, 2008 crash and Covid. I've been laid off multiple times or had careers derailed. No nostalgia here.
I enjoyed the book and the series. I thought the book got too bogged down in her argument that the attempt to remove the bullet caused all of Garfield's problems. The series brought the characters to life.
Thanks for the kind words.
I have not come out and said it on social media but I'm no longer campaigning. I want to thank everyone who supported my short-lived campaign. I love this country and will find another to help during this period.
The writer is from a town near where I grew up. "Itβs hard to speak up when your teeth hurt. Itβs hard to stand up when you are hungry. Itβs hard to show up when you canβt afford gas."
You absolutely would not want to be, or be anywhere near, any bottle of ketchup in what remains of the White House today.
This is being driven by 35% of the electorate. Most people don't want masked thugs rounding people up or SNAP benefits being held back or tax cuts for billionaires. Republicans always talk about the silent majority. That's where we are.
Trump being given a golden crown by South Korea is so on point for 2025.
I agree. A national strike is the only path forward. But trying to push against an American tradition seems ill advised.
The week of Thanksgiving is terrible timing. You are asking people to not see family and instead have an economic shutdown.
My school is 100% free and reduced lunch. A huge percentage are on food stamps (SNAP). Many will be going hungry in a week when benefits run out. It breaks my heart. π
Are we in a bubble? Andrew Ross Sorkin asks the crowd at the Altria. Very few raised their hands. Do we remember 2008?
No Kings was great. Several friends who never protested before came. But it can't just be a white, middle class movement. Richmond is a very diverse community and that diversity was not represented. We must move toward a general strike. And that will take a bigger movement with more bridges.
Sunday after the protest I got my haircut. The person who cut my hair was in her early 30s, tats everywhere. She did the Black Lives Matter protest but had to work on a Saturday. We have to find ways to build bridges outside our white, middle class bubble. Mass general strike is the only way forward
Shit went from bad to really dark fast.
The scale of Russian and Chinese bot farms is unimaginable. They have 1,000s of cell phones in warehouses generating AI content to sow chaos.
The federalists didn't have section 230. It's created some of the most powerful media companies in the world and the tech oligarch ruling class.
Mehdi is right. Media has always been owned by rich, powerful people. Anyone remember the NYT and the Iraq War?
Only the most extreme voices are rewarded right now. It's all about attention.
