Has anyone verified the criminal records of the Minnesota โworst of the worstโ list they released? I did a quick google of a couple of the names and didnโt come up with anythingโฆ
The numbers donโt pan out for most of us, but they DO pan out for *somebody*โฆ and those are the people that the Mayor cares about.
Can we make the DFL better? I hope so, because the state party SUCKS. The refusal to protect our trans siblings as a clearly stated part of our party platform (and internal code of conduct) is one glaring example.
Bragging about CoC donations to All of Mpls in 2023
In contrast to Richard Carlbomโs substance-free, platitude-heavy email, MN DFL Outreach Officer Quentin Wathum-Ocama sent a real response; one which echoes the frustration that many of us feel.
I wanted to add my own words to what has already been said, because this matters deeply to me I want to be unequivocal when I say: transphobia has no place in our party. Trans and non-binary people are under unprecedented assault, politically, legally, and personally, which makes it all the more important that we walk the walk, not just talk the talk, as a party. I was not a participant at the Feminist Caucus annual meeting, but to any and all trans and non-binary DFLers who walked away from that meeting (and the subsequent follow-up communications) feeling disrespected, unseen, and discriminated against, I want to offer my sincere apology as a leader in this party. I want to acknowledge that rea
party. I want to acknowledge that real and lasting harm was caused by some of the conduct of the Feminist Caucus leadership, and that it is incumbent upon all of us, as leaders of the party, to create an environment where that harm can be addressed and where healing is possible. I also offer my commitmentโas Outreach Officer and Co-Chair of the Outreach and Inclusion Committeeโto work in conjunction with our trans and non-binary activists, Stonewall DFL, staff, other party officers, and party leadership to ensure the DFL is a more welcoming and inclusive space for all.
As stated, Iโm already working on several steps to increase inclusivity, and next week I plan to have an in-depth conversation with Stonewall DFL to plan next steps with the caucus. Iโm always willing to work with any of you allโlistening to your input and lived experience to guide my work carefullyโand Iโll be the first to acknowledge that I have blind spots. If thereโs something Iโm missing, please tell me; I will listen, learn, and act where I can. For me, this work looks like ongoing education and training, clear accountability when respect is violated, intentional inclusion of trans and non-binary voices at every level, and practical supports that make sure every DFLer can fully belong.
(1/2) MN DFL Outreach and Inclusion Officer @quentinocama.bsky.social just sent a much, much better response to this situation. We're lucky to have him and I hope his hard work has positive results.
I am proud that you are my Representative in Congress.

Richard Carlbom, MN DFL Chair has responded to the Open Letter to State DFL Leadership in Response to Transphobic Behavior by Leadership of the Feminist Caucus. It sounded like AI wrote it, so Iโm wondering if you can pick the real one from Chat GPTโs versions (here are my prompts).
Update for signers: we'll be collecting signatures through the rest of the weekend and sending the letter and evidence to DFL Party Leadership on Monday morning!
We are at more than 700 signers from across the state, including several elected officials. We are *truly* blown away, y'all! ๐ญ๐๐ฅฐ
That was me using Black as the Diversity and Inclusion officerโs pronoun as Black asked. No one, ever, used Blackโs stated preferred pronoun in that meeting, and Black never batted an eye.
In this case it was clear that Black was mocking trans people asking for their correct pronouns and doubling down on it with that exact (disingenuous) argument.
Sure. But pretending that you actually want people to use โBlackโ as your pronoun when that is demonstrably false (this person has in fact identified Blackself with she/her pronouns when in spaces where there are not trans people advocating for their own correct pronoun use).
Yes
It was so disheartening on so many levels, but the clear TERFyness of it was certainly the worst part. Do we need to form a DFL Intersectional Caucus?
Oh, wait! I can't!
Feel certain we know someone in common... if you can DM me for signal info?
sending you a DM!
I joined and registered when I initially saw this tweet... is there any additional guidance you can give for tonight?
I canโt quite grapple with this fully yetโฆ

Where is the line that โcomes acrossโ becomes โis clearlyโ?
A Frey staffer was seen hurrying out during the discussionโฆif we hadnโt adjourned, I doubt he would have actually come in at that point.
Yes, it had been passed around to each precinct that Frey was en route, so by the time Dave Tilsen moved to adjourn (specifically before Frey arrived) people were primed. The biggest controversy of the convention was which way to disrespect Frey would be more powerful.
Is there some kind of joke to be made from Trump being a convicted FELON and us being able to also say F ELON to his anointed government-dismantler? I feel like there should be, but I canโt quite get there.
Surely someone has already come up with something from that?
โฆSince theyโre getting rid of DEI, are they also getting rid of veteransโ preference in hiring for the federal gov? 2/2
Nothing says โMake America Great Againโ like fucking over our veterans (who are served by the federal agency that employs the most people) and employs a significantly higher share of vets than the general workforceโฆ 1/2
