It was so good! And frustrating. So many people KNEW what was going to happen.

Is there a way to change what your monthly StoryGraph shows or is it mandated to be highest rated reads?
It was a very memoir-y month for me!

I genuinely hate the word swig, so I hope it made the cut.

a hand holding the book Challenger by Adam Higginbotham
So interesting, but I feel like I underestimated how long this would take me to read. The font is tiny. π

Pink and white flower bud on the tree.
I'm glad I took the time to snap a picture of the magnolia buds today because tonight... πβ°οΈπͺ¦

Thank you!
I hate the word swig. It makes me think of earwigs in a soda bottle. I know this is irrational and I've had this word ick since childhood. π
I wish I could bottle the joy from a manatee smoosh.

I would love to be included! π
And I'm guessing someone, somewhere already got a ππΊπΈπ₯ tattoo, so there's that.
I got this NYT alert while lying in bed resting after receiving a very expensive lupus treatment, simply because of where I live and what my privilege allows me access to, while reading chapter 20 of Everything is Tuberculosis. This feels like injustice.
Stephanie Nolen reporting that 1,200,000 children will die because of this decision. Unconscionable.
I have a new book out today, the Portable Feminist Reader. I hope you check it out. audacity.substack.com/p/new-book-o...
π I've had a few house plant casualties.
I loved these so much. π
Add plants and this would be my one stop shop. ππ
Hand holding a Benlysta injection.
I was really nervous to inject my new lupus med. The Benlysta pamphlet is very doom and gloom featuring possible side effects of cancer, brain infection, death. π
Paced around and stared at it for a bit. But I did it.

The book I shared a quote from last night. A quick inspiring read for anyone with a body.

The notion of βtaking too much spaceβ is born out of a framework of scarcity upon which we have built a world where some people are allowed to build skyscrapers and stadiums or run countries and make laws for the masses, while others are told to stay small, go unnoticed, donβt take up too much room on the sidewalk.
Sunday read. From the Body is Not an Apology by Sonya Renee Taylor.

Amazing Brace for Impact book club meeting last night. I really enjoyed Gabe Montesanti's memoir and it certainly gave us a lot to discuss.

Unsigned is the rarer edition!
The Prince and the Dressmaker was delightful. Loved the story! Loved the art! This read made being on hold several times today more pleasant. π

You're right. It honestly does feel like a full time job. The calls, the appointments, all of it!
Everyone tells you how hard it is physically to be chronically ill, but no one tells you how many phone calls you're going to have to suffer through every day. Doctors, insurance companies, specialty pharmacies, scheduling. Truly awful. π
