Most, if not all, Christians have a heritage of political engagement. Protestants, simply by virtue of their name, should be the last to forget that.
This means that the Protestant Reformation—the event that your religion is named after—was not only a religious protest. It was a political action.
It included multiple Papal States, controlled armies, had its own courts and system of law, and wielded additional informal political power on other nations.
For Protestant Christians trying not to get political: do you realize that, in the 16th century when the Protestant reformation occurred, the Catholic Church was a political power?
We need moral leaders who understand and embrace pluralism. That’s it.
