I've been listening to the audiobooks recently, and this line from So Long and Thanks for All the Fish (which I haven't read in decades and barely remember) felt like an accurate description of a lot of pro-AI talk I come across.

Problem is the tech companies are telling potential/actual customers that it will increase productivity fourfold or even better and they are believing it. The environmental impacts alone are staggering. Hate having to use it.
