I think your approach is the best way to try and enjoy it - I'd be more on board to play like that with some QoL changes.

battles are pointless / unfun but necessary, the animations are sooooooo slow, the way they go about limited time raid 'mons leads to huuuge FOMO which while it makes sense i rly dislike.. the avatar update was just so bad too, completely disregarding playing hardcore, they look ugly ;-;
