I definitely enjoyed it by the end! Although if I take it any further we probably should get an instructor to take us through the basics ๐

I can't say I was a particularly natural cross country skier based on my first attempt ๐
however after a rough 20 minutes and a steep learning curve, we got there in the end

Two people in ski gear sat on the snow in front of a large Crans Montana sign with mountains and blue sky in the background
The sun setting over the snow covered mountains and valley

Beautiful weekend on the slopes in Crans Montana!

Me stood next to the Institute of Hospitality CEO and youth council vice chair Lizzie on a balcony in front of Lake Geneva and snowy mountains
A group of attendees smiling at the camera in the Mosimann collection
Me with Anton Mosimann himself!
Anton Mosimann's private detective diploma
A bit starstruck after meeting the culinary legend that is Anton Mosimann ๐
all thanks to the Institute of Hospitality! Turns out as well as being a pretty top notch chef (understatement) the man also has a private detective diploma and competed in Schwingen (Swiss wrestling)

Really interesting article @stephdyson.bsky.social on using AI to plan travel. As mentioned in the article, always double-check information with reliable, trustworthy sources. And consider the environmental impact of using AI too!

Tenby's such a great place to visit. If you have any plans to go back I recommend St Catherine's Island, Stowaway Coffee Co and Tenby Harbour Brewery :) And the boat trips to see the nature and wildlife on some of the islands are amazing!

Thank you Laura for an excellent newsletter this week!
'...they are talking about Greenland as an asset they can strip and own. Itโs not. Itโs a country inhabited by people, with its own culture and extraordinary nature, and a fragile one at that.'

Honestly living in Switzerland is dangerous. I *could* work this afternoon but I could also get on a train in an hour and a half and be in Venice in time for dinner, and frankly today that's a difficult decision when motivation and energy levels are *low* ๐

My laptop with a Word doc open on my lap, covered in a blanket. On a table in front of me is a cup of coffee and a candle. In the background is my TV, surrounded by fairy lights, streaming a cosy, snowy cafe scene
Writing a white paper about ambience in hospitality - how did I do?

A picture of the streets of Freiburg, with pastel coloured medieval buildings connected by vines
Am heading to the lovely Freiburg soon for a day trip! ๐ฉ๐ช Have been before so it's going to be fairly chilled. Other than the Christmas markets of course, any recommendations?
