Don't they realise we've got a goal difference deficit to make up 😠

Imagine... Archie's Tottenham go down. They're in the worst form of the relegation contenders. #lufc

Fair play, we were brilliant after Jaka's moment of madness. That Palmer miss though 😱

Tempted to agree, but could've done without the heart attack when they went 0-2 down!

Yeah I'm starting to hope we don't do too well. Worst nightmare would be Man U but he wants to be a manager not a head coach (previous guy got sacked for claiming he was the former). Spurs also a risk. Or Bundesliga but would have to be a top team there.

No PSR after June. Should enable us to spend a bit more.

On the bright side, were only 2 behind Spurs. Would rather have a bigger cushion but now we have the opportunity to put more teams between us and the drop zone.

That had me really confused for a moment before realising they'd cocked it up!

It’s time to chainsaw the Brexit red tape and end the cost of living crisis. Labour MPs should back our plan for a new customs union.

Doubly so because all RR's team have to do to prepare her is see what the right wing papers are putting out.

I'm calling it out. Government funded childcare was not about helping parents into work. It's about getting more children into nursery so they can spread their bugs around.

The outcome of a nefarious campaign by Big Lemsip!

@jeremyhuntmp.bsky.social care to comment?

Yes. It feels like a cancer that we are just ignoring. I'm not sure how we defend against it though. Ban 'X'? Take GB News off the air? Would love to hear more ideas.

The far-right is coming for everything - the BBC is just tip of the iceberg. Give it power and it will take control of the courts, the Electoral Commission, the universities, the school curriculum and all other organs of civic power. The aim is very simple: never losing power again.

I think he had a chip on his shoulder and felt he wasn't respected as a northern working class person in academia. I'm guessing he missed out on a job/promotion and at some point decided to "sell out" (i.e. abuse his position as an academic to give some false authority to anti-immigrant viewpoints.

Nice work! Looks like a tricky period from around game 15 to 24. Can't see Farke surviving if that transpires.

He's a classic grifter. An academic who used to hold centre-left views (supported Sadiq Khan for instance) but saw an opportunity in becoming the go-to academic of the far right. No doubt it's been quite lucrative for Goodwin.

Not true. There is a trade border because they are not in the Customs Union.

Under the Ireland/NI protocol, NI remains in both the SM and CU while being outside of the EU and there is no trade border.

30th anniversary of the EU single market The European single market was established on 1 January 1993 and guarantees the free movement of goods, services, people and capital in the EU.

I'm quoting from the EU website:

"The single market includes the 27 EU member states and Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein"

There is no conflation. The EEA nations are in the SM.

Says who? You can be in the SM but not the EU, like the EFTA nations.

Calling it now (maybe it's been said by someone else but I haven't seen it) - Digital ID will be used as part of a platform to rejoin the EU single market in the next Labour manifesto. I.e. make non-EU immigration harder, return to reciprocal FoM but enforce the 3 month rule for EU arrivals.

Oops, forgot to mention that I of course froze the income tax thresholds for a further 2 years.

IFS Zooms In Live: How could the Chancellor raise more tax? | Institute for Fiscal Studies A special in-person recording of an episode of the IFS Zooms In podcast ahead of the Budget, looking at the choices facing the Chancellor.

..but Β£26bn is a decent chunk, while remaining tax neutral for most 'working people' - which could be argued to be honouring the spirit of the manifesto commitment (f not the letter).

Will be interesting to hear what the IFS come up with: ifs.org.uk/events/ifs-z...

Be the Chancellor | Institute for Fiscal Studies Our interactive tool lets you be the Chancellor. Change spending plans, set tax policies and see how your choices impact borrowing and debt.

I have raised Β£26bn in tax by:
▫️ increasing income tax basic rate to 24%
▫️ reducing NICs basic rate to 4%
▫️ charging NICs at the same rate on private pensions
▫️ charging NICs on older workers
▫️ applying CGT at death

I may be ~Β£10-20bn short of what the chancellor needs..

I would say I had learnt something new, but I'd probably have to listen to it again at slow speed for that to be true. What it certainly was is new and interesting to me!

which will inevitably include people from various ethnic groups.

So in a world where ad producers are forced to either over- or under-represent (given small numbers) the latter is clearly more congruous with people's everyday experience than the former.
