Un espoir pour stopper la propagation du cancer : un étude des Drs Côté et Elkholi parue dans «Cancer Research» Il s’agit d’un nouvel espoir de comprendre et de limiter la récurrence métastatique du cancer du sein. Les récidives qui surviennent dans d’autres organes ou qui se réveillent après une période de dormance ne sont pas bienvenues. On découvre que la protéine PIK3C3 est essentielle à la survie des cellules cancéreuses dormantes. En ciblant cette protéine, les chercheurs ont pu éliminer ces cellules dormantes avant qu'elles ne déclenchent une récidive. Bravo à la recherche!
