St Patrick's Day is Ireland's national day.
9 ..
It marks the feast of our patron saint and celebrates Irish history, Irish music and Irish culture.
Everyone is welcome to celebrate with us. Ireland has always been welcoming.
But the day should remain about Ireland.
Turning St Patrick's Day into a global "celebrate every culture" festival misses the point.
Every nation deserves one day each year that honours its own heritage.
Ireland deserves the same.
Over on X, the everything app, after getting bored harassing a fun run, and Dublin Zoo, they've now turned their attention to a regional St Patrick's Day parade for being "inclusive".
Volunteers and organisers are being targeted for harassment, and already a sitting TD has joined in on the pile on.

The shattered ruin of a castle tower, perfectly reflected in the blue waters of Lough Oughter, Cavan
Clogh Oughter Castle • Cavan
The castle was built by William Gorm de Lacy in the 13th century.
Clogh Oughter Castle was the very last Irish stronghold to fall to Cromwell’s forces when it was bombarded by cannon until the garrison finally surrendered.

A good percentage of the time when people move to a smart meter and notice higher than "normal" electric use, it's for a few reasons. The big one is that spinny disk has been running slower than it should for YEARS. Which means you've gotten free electrons all that time and now? You're not.

She has underfloor electrical heating which in the past would have been fed by a circuit from a Night Saver meter like storage heaters. If
replaced by a single smart meter without adding a timer to underfloor circuit it would end up on all day not just cheaper 11 to 8am?

170,000 apply to take EU jobs test
The last time hiring competition was held, some 22,500 applied. This time it’s much higher.
Some 170,000 people have applied to take a test that could see them get a well-paid and secure EU job — but the odds are stacked against them because fewer than 1,500 roles could be available.
