Micro scan, cefoxitin testing confirmed MSSA in the epidural space regarding the above scenario. We checked with our lab and reconfirmed that the blood isolates were indeed MRSA.

2 sets of blood cultures on two different days with MRSA by Biofire, and confirmed by microdilution. Surgical specimens from epidural abscess with MSSA x 2 swabs on another day; same patient. MIC to oxacillin on epidural specimens was 2. Can someone explain this please? Thanks!
