💯 ! what was funny on this occasion was it was pulling *hard* in the wrong direction, despite constant prompting and a clear high level goal. i kept overruling it step by step and at the end it literally went 'oh shit its clean now!' lol. like it utterly didnt want to believe....

a good reminder that, while the robots are amazing at doing the boring stuff, they just have this incredibly strong bias towards 'mid' baked into them, which can be *really* hard work to overcome. still, I'm thankful I didnt need to do *all* the mechanical refactors.

it was quite funny asking the robot to help (codex as it happens), even halfway through the ripout it was utterly hell bent on having me install the WASI sdk and other heavyweight dependencies. only when it was totally 'empty' did it go 'oh! you only need clang!' despite that being the whole point.

the wasm-wasi-emscripten-other-stuff-i-dont-know stack is surprisingly 'fat', and it was refreshing to understand a bit better the 'raw' stack underneath it. for audio type things, none of that emscripten stuff is needed. and the loader/jswasm boundary is much clearer to my oldschool eyes.

went on an interesting yakshave/learning journey where I got rid of emscripten and just used base clang to target wasm; needed to implement the (tiny) subset of the c stdlib I was using, including some simple math stuff, but it was pretty painless (and robots helped with the boilerplate).

downloading & installing a win11 vm to test something out, im staggered how many gb of updates and how many hours (!) it takes to install and update itself from a freshly downloaded 4gb ISO. modern OSes man. smdh

kinda but not in a conventional/3d sense: tthink of the line as a ball of 32D spaghetti; it tries to find a slowly shifting 2d 'projection' that best shows it, and orthographically projects from 32d->2d. so a kind of camera, but no step is 3d
