I've been a Carshare member since it began in Halifax. I love it. Less time spent getting a car serviced. Less time digging out of snowbanks. In beautiful weather I can choose to walk for part of my trip and pick up a Flex. Stuck in gridlock I can ditch the car and walk to the ferry.

People arenβt comfortable with change. Halifax is designed for cars. Today using public transit is difficult. If/when? it is designed to prioritize other forms of transportation, they will use them. I hope I live long enough to be able to use my bike instead of a car to get around the city.

Agreed. Also an interesting way to encourage more film money. Flatter the politicians.

In Atlantic Canada, on the opposite side of the continent, Iβd say the most common sentiment toward Americans is sympathy and toward the US government, betrayal.

Artist Tim Forbes and The Prow Gallery administrator during his artist talk. Graphic black and white paintings in the background.
Tim Forbes gave a talk at The Prow Gallery Halifax Nova Scotia. He uses K3 paint juxtaposed with Carbon black. That K3 makes you fall into the painting it is so black. Powerful compositions.

I wouldnβt expect a problem vacationing in Canada. We love our American friends. We donβt like being bullied by the current administration.

Yes. That was part of the deal. I was to paint while listening to a piece Iβd never heard. I was listening to similar music. Steven mentioned that you compose. I think I suggested that he pick one. I had only done this once before the workshop but it lit me up so I knew it was something to follow.

An expressive, non representational painting
We did a few exercises. I focused on my project of painting in response to music, very quickly, in order to keep the subconscious mind engaged and too fast for the logical mind. This was in response to @aimophoto.bsky.social
