Nothing brings climate change home like a wildfire. This is Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand taken at roughly midnight.

(I am standing miles away from the exclusion zone and upwind)

I have a couple long lens photos for tomorrow, but turns out fires cause heat haze, go figure.

Busy as a bee, and twice as buzzy.

I'm not having any feeding issues on mine, so its probably good old fashioned jinhao inconsistency. You could try pulling and reseating the nib or flossing the tines with a shim to widen them slightly. I'm no nibmeister but there are tutorials for the basics out there.

Tarāpuka - The Black Billed Gull. Another NZ exclusive birdie. Pretty sure they wanted my sandwich. Pretty sure these were pretty young, since some of them still had their baby plumage.

This is a Conway Stewart 570 "Dinkie" fountain pen which I restored myself.
Its a lovely little leaver action, and I have a matching pencil somewhere.
Closeups like this don't really do the size of these justice, they're like matchsticks compared to regular pens.

I managed to get some one on fourteen time with some beautiful pūtangitangi or paradise ducklings. They're a New Zealand exclusive species!

Both mum and dad were hanging and keeping an eye on them as they all foraged. 10/10 magical experience.
