Looking for people who want to influence systems, not just people, even without authority.
If you like to explore how power and influence work, then my substack newsletter could be interesting for you: open.substack.com/pub/yevgenne...

Software Architecture is not only about "Software" and "Architecture". It is first and foremost about Power.

"It was a conference of thinkers." - @yevgen-nebesov.bsky.social on Agile meets Architecture 2025
Why he loved it:
- Philosophical depth β not just theory, not just tools. Critical thinking about why we do what we do.
In the interview below, I share a couple of ideas about the role of Power in society and why, in Western culture, we are trying to avoid this topic.
Thanks to Aboubacar Konate for this lovely conversation!

Glad to be back at softwarearchitecture.live this year with a session on The Power of Architecture and the Architecture of Power!
This talk is for anyone who wants to understand how power operatesβand how to use artifacts to redesign the power landscape within your organization.
Just submitted my talk, βThe Architecture of Power,β to a rather unusual venue for IT β TEDx. Although my talk hasnβt been accepted yet, Iβd love to hear from any tech folks whoβve spoken at TEDx events. What did you learn? Any tips or insights youβd be willing to share? Many thanks in advance!
After all, you never know who might become the next Gucci of Software Architecture.
Conference organizers often pick star speakers to attract more visitors. But I want to encourage them to give a stage to those whose approaches and ideas havenβt (yet) found wide adoption in the mainstream. I believe this would be good for the industry.
Thatβs why, when I attend conferences, I prefer sessions by newcomers and hidden champions. In a discipline where framing problems is more important than knowing solutions, diversity matters more than experience.
Whatβs the difference between the clothing industry and Software Architecture?
In the clothing industry, the most valued brands try to position themselves outside of the mainstream. In Software Architecture, the most acknowledged speakers and authors define the mainstreamβde facto.
What an unforgettable speaker lineup!
Every speaker brought something unique to the table, leaving everyone inspired and ready for action.
Huge thank you for making this event extraordinary π
After a year of work, Iβm glad to finally deliver my talk βThe Power of Architecture and the Architecture of Powerβ for the first time. More chances to share it are coming later this year.
Hey, curious how to align social and technical requirements? Then join my session on Sociotechnical Engineering on 14 May meetu.ps/e/P2FJn/KXYV... at Tech Excellence online meetup.
