Its also probably why, at least among Republican voters that Trump's support has been durable because they see him as someone who isn't a politician, who doesn't need to pander. I disagree with that, but that is probably why his support with a certain slice of the country has stayed strong.
This is the classic case of a politician pandering in order to win votes that most Americans really despise.
βοΈThere is information that Russia might also be helping Iran with drone targeting and tactics against the United States.
If true, this should be very concerning for the United States.
Iβm old enough to remember when Obama was elected in 2008 with large Democratic majorities in Congress, people thought that there was going to be a permanent majority. Two years later, the Tea Party swept into Congress.
The people of Iran did not choose this war. The regime did.
Yet millions are trapped between missiles from above and repression from within.
In the European Parliament I spoke for those who deserve what every people deserves: Freedom.

The administration should've planned for this.
The ship was legit military target. The sailors were given orders. They followed those orders. I served in the Navy myself, so with respect, don't judge our folks in uniform. Judge the political leaders and politicians.
Having served on two ships, the Navy indeed has rules and procedures. We drilled and trained to follow these rules prior to being deployed.
When they are given an order to launch Tomahawks or strike targets, that's what they do. That is what our military does. When I was 21 years old, we were told to patrol certain areas or support the carrier, that's what we did.
We can say what we will about the political leadership, but I know that the officers and enlisted saliors manning those ships do their jobs in the most professional matter. I can attest to that because I served in the Navy on a destroyer in the Persian Gulf.
I deployed on my first ship, the USS Mason (DDG-87) twenty years ago to the Persian Gulf. We were gone for only six months, but those six months were very tough being away from home. I can't imagine these sailors being gone for almost a year.
I'm a navy veteran. I deployed to the Gulf, where Iran used their P3 aircraft and fast speedboats to harass my ship. I would love to see their military defeat. But the planning of this and the preparation of the fallout was so piss poor.
As a navy veteran who has transited through the Strait of Hormuz before with Iranian aircraft and speedboats harassing my ship, I baffles me when the Pentagon didn't plan for something like this in the first place. This was done before in the Iran-Iraq war.
Should've started at the get go, but better late than never I guess.

Ukraine has had the cards the whole time.
And no one thought this was going to be a possibility?
How about they accept the reality that there's no hope in it passing?
What are your odds that Senate Republicans will bypass the filibuster to pass this thing? Do they realize the what that would do?
Machismo is what is driving the Dept of Defense. It still requires an act of Congress to change the name of a govt agency.
That's the President of the United States for you.
Yeah, he's impressed that his govt now has more money from high oil prices and that sanctions are now starting to be eased. This idiot is once again Putin's useful idiot.
