If you reply to emails at the same rate that they arrive, then email numbers and email arrival rate will increase and increase until that is all you do.
Take. Your. Time.
Life is the things you do inbetween emails.
Finally some sense, lol.
So kind! Thank you, that motivates me to find an outlet. βΊοΈ
So Iβve written a short piece (approx 1400 words but could be cut down) on βThe Question of Joyβ in academia. Any ideas or tips about where I might send this? Iβve written for the LSE Impact Blog before but keen to explore other possibilities.
Any advice welcomed. Thank you.
Hungary has just passed an amendment to the constitution that allows the government to ban public events by LGBTQ+ communities.
The university death spiral is everywhere, and for everyone: they're all just on a convoy into the same black hole. Oxbridge, LSE and Imperial excepted, they must all *necessarily and inevitably* end up crushed to the size of an Oxo cube if we go on like this.

Given that the word "women" is on the NSF list of words that flat a proposal for rejection and "men" is not, that seems to be the case. As a women's health researcher this is obviously enormously troubling.
In October, I wrote about how Trumpβs potential presidency could impact reproductive rights in Scotland.
Never did I think it would be as explicit as the US veep spouting fear mongering, nonsensical lies about Scotlandβs buffer zones.

Write every day for 1 hour. If you miss a writing day add 1 hour to the next. Itβs incredible! Tomorrow Iβm writing for 7 years.
The one thing that has made my university experience a good one is the staff on the philosophy team. The lecturers and staff at the university ARE WHAT MAKE THE UNIVERSITY. Their plans to cut over 50% of staff are morally horrendous and will lead to the downfall of the university as a whole
