Remembering John Blakemore, An Appreciation - Photographs by John Blakemore | Text by John Comino-James | LensCulture
John Blakemore (1936-2025), was an influential British photographer and teacher, renowned for his landscape and still-life photography
Having found a suitable spot, he would sit w/ eyes closed for about 20 minutes allowing himself to feel contact w/ the ground, hear the myriad sounds of the landscape, & experience movements of the air. Why? Attunement to the place & dispersal of any preconceptions as to what images might be made.
