My modest contribution to the recent online discussion on whether Fukuyama is good, actually.
Whilst in power Jimmy Carter supported several brutal dictatorships, with a long record of human rights abuses, in order to further the interests of the US empire. For some reason liberals (who purport to care about freedom) aren't talking about facts so well known they're on his wikipedia page.
Merry Christmas, here's an overview of the 25 or so SNA factions I just put out for paid subscribers

Watching US internal political debates as a third worlder never fails to leave me feeling a type of way. Like being part of an impoverished mass looking at a dictator's palace wondering what plans they've cooked up for you that you have absolutely no say in. Will they be nice? Will they kill you?

True multipolar praxis has never been tried
Bro
Yeahβmy apologies. I shouldn't have expected any better from the yanks. Too bad I don't live in Gaza, because an American bomb would've cut my delusional life much shorter.
No yeah, sorry, you're entirely correct. I was too delusional to have a single shred of good faith on the Americans. I should've known better that Americans thrive on the blood of tens of thousands of Gazan civilians. Campism not too different from the tankies.
Thanks for the clarityβcheers.
Don't you dare look away. This is what Harris meant when she said "I will never hesitate to take whatever action is necessary to defend our forces and our interests against Iran and Iran-backed terrorists."
Don't you fucking dare look away
No I didn't, but I do appreciate your honesty and clarity. I actually think it's quite refreshing to hear, as opposed to the perfidious American snakes insisting it was going to happen. This was a hot topic a while back before it died down, as if out of a consensus that the Americans are liars.
So I remember American centrist liberals on Twitter/Bluesky insisting and convincing me that Biden was going to impose an arms embargo any day now? That gonna happen, or should I hope that Iran would prove to be sufficiently threatening to Israel just like Egypt 1973?
'They tortured us': Rohingya survivors of fatal capsize say Indonesian captain raped girls, purposely sank boat
The boat capsize last March killed 67 Rohingya refugees, including 28 children.
Never understood the connotation behind this either. I prefer "yank" if anything, but "USian" seems to me an entirely acceptable alternative to "American" when I'm running out of characters in a tweet.
"As he saw it, nostalgia was a kind of pathological patriotic love, an intense and dangerous homesickness ... associated with being uprooted, a sickness of displacement, a kind of sadness or depression that arose from the desire to return to oneβs home."
Reminds me of this recent essay on diaspora
Over 1600 academics condemn Israelβs scholasticide, the systematic destruction of Gazaβs education system.

Retreating here momentarily from Twitter. I know, I haven't forgotten about my book backlog, but I'm a bit busy with real life as it is. As for personal updates: last January I just signed up for labour union membership and told them I'd volunteer to make their website, so I'm working on that now.
Sorry to hear, Rui. You've been a very valuable voice in the CN political analyst sphere and I'm always looking forward to hearing what you have to say. I know I'm the n-th person to say this and this won't change anything but please know I deeply appreciate the work that you do.
Unyielding support for Palestiniansβ right to self-defense doesn't mean political support for every factionβand criticism of Hamas is inadequate without acknowledging Israel has long financed it in order to delegitimize Palestinian self-determination. archive.ph/H8LSL (1/2)
Will go and give that Sukarno autobiography a read, followed by this book I just acquired on the Indonesian New Order-era transmigration program. Hopefully I can finish these soon enough so I can talk about them.
This place seems a lot chiller right now too. A few awful politics poasters have made their way here, but I can deal with the occasional psycho long as they don't get to pay $8/month to have their bullshit boosted. I used to get at least a few interactions on my postsβI'd be lucky now if I got any.
I belong to the left, and I sympathise with its causesβbut too many leftists fall into the trap of over-romanticising history, and I rather scorn that tendency as well, on top of glossing over or even justifying its more atrocious parts. Maintain this dishonesty, and you're doomed to irrelevance.
