A snowshoe hare at the bottom of the photo, still dressed in all white, stands out easily among dirt, dry vegetation and evergreen trees. I read that itโs the amount of daylight, not the amount of snow, that makes their colors change, leaving them somewhat vulnerable in an early spring.
