I managed to have a quick conversation with my lawyer friend and gave him the rundown of the Amazon AI scraping situation. It sounds like a class action lawsuit is possible. Is this something anyone would want to pursue? If so, I can start doing some more in depth talks to get further steps.
I'm extremely tempted to contact a family friend who is a copyright/patent lawyer about this. See if it can be made a class action lawsuit, because it is INSANE that Amazon ever thought scraping other shops' listings is permissible.

This clip features the main characters of one of my stories, Mal, a wolverine and Avala, a ringtail, during their first encounter with each other. Avala, while seeking shelter from a blizzard, discovers the injured Mal within an ice cave. Alone in a foreign land, with no allies to speak of, Avala takes pity upon the unconscious brute. She uses what little scrap of fabric she can spare, torn from her own clothing, to pack Mal's wound, then tries to build a small fire for them to share. However, it's not quite enough to withstand the raging storm outside, nor is Avala, a desert dweller, built for such frigid lands. The torpor of hypothermia slowly begins to sink into her limbs. As she succumbs to the chill, the beastly giant awakens in a haze of bloodlust. Having just managed to escape the battle where he had received his injuries, he finds a stranger in his presence, but he knows not if she is friend or foe... I would love to turn their full story into an animatic, so this is mostly a proof of concept at the moment. I really hope even without context or dialogue, that Mal's body language and expressions really shine through here.

It definitely feels like a completely different approach to art. Takes a good amount of adjusting. I mainly started doing it as a way to stop my OCD tendencies with lineart. It forced me to worry less about perfection and focus more on just vibes. Kind of a freeing experience imo.
