I long for the mornings I’ve lost,
for their gentle embrace,
their stillness that soothed
without asking for more.
But Cyclone Endo keeps its grip,
its bands ferocious and endless,
a reminder that nothing is sacred,
all can be taken.
Now, the sunrise feels distant,
its beauty muted
by the closing of a door.
Pain bends the hours,
pulls the world out of focus,
and leaves me stranded
on the edge of time-
a hazy witness to the slow erosion
of what I once held sacred.
The mornings I once knew
were quiet sanctuaries,
where the first footsteps on the shore belonged to me,
as the world awoke,
each sunrise a promise
of something new.
Stolen Mornings
Pain arrives violently,
like the outer bands of a cat 4,
forewarned, but never welcomed-
a thief with reliable hands.
It roars into the hours
when light should bloom,
turning soft light
into shadows of what was.
I don’t see how some people can suggest he’s a genius and yet also had no idea what this signal was!

I’ll ask my GP about this! Didn’t mention it when I asked about cost but he knows my financial situation right now so that may have been the overriding issue in his mind!

I wish they’d make it free even for those past the recommended age! I’m one shot short (surgeries got in the way) but just can’t afford it!

There’s a woman who lives near me who is posting online about her dog’s eye being paralysed after a paralysis tick. She’s refusing to get vet treatment. My heart is breaking for the dog 😭 I feel so helpless
I have a friend who recently took his daughter on holiday; he said he had countless people approach him and tell him what a fantastic job he was doing. He was aware enough to point out to them that his wife does it every day! He asked her and she’d never been approached

I think it’s important we challenge harmful behaviour or we’ll never be better
If calling out this behavior makes the "pig happy," that says more about their comfort with the status quo than it does about those of us challenging it, IMHO

To me there’s a difference in using insults like “loser” as a blanket dismissal to shut down dissent or demean people arbitrarily. AOC’e post is calling out specific, pervasive behaviour - harassing women for celebrating their achievements - and pointing out the harmful mindset behind it

I had a GP recently tell me my endometriosis is so bad “because I haven’t had babies” 😭 thankfully I knew better but I worry about young girls and women getting that advice!
