We are now forced to close intake and not help anymore cats until we find homes for the adoptable cats in our care. We literally have no more space and I'm having to say no to cats who will die without us.
all these kittens are still here.
Please share.

it makes me very sad that we still have 8 perfect, healthy big kittens growing up mostly in an enclosure here at the rescue.
They should be cuddling on someone's lap, zooming around, being happy babies.
Soon they'll be a year old and still sitting here, waitingβ [pictures of adorable kittens]

This is exactly how Putin became one of the wealthiest men in the world. He got a cut of every major industry. That's exactly what is going on here.

A photo, taken from above and behind, as though the photographer was about to step into them, of a pair of dark grey ankle boots. They are spangled with little silver dots, and lined with light grey faux-fur.
My current pair, which I fully expect to last me until summer, and maybe through the fall:

Did I spend half a hour trying on every single pair that looked like it might be my size? Yup.
Did I end up spending $30 for 6 pairs of boots? YUP!
So now I get to wear a pair until it dies, then just reach into the closet for another. I think I still have two pairs (plus my current) left!

Yes!
I made the absolute best score a few years ago: a discount store had a whole shelf of fluffy grey Cat & Jack boots theyβd gotten because the sizes were mismarked, and were thus selling for $5/pair.

Wait, they just look at you?! Where I live, they donβt look; they just reach out, squeeze your tits, frown, and announce βthis one!β At which point you buy it, lest you upset the ghosts of the Russian grandmothers, and wear it until the cycle repeats.

The sick irony is that Zionism was supposed to make Jews safe. But building up a Jewish Sparta, as Arendt once called it, at the crossroads of Empire did the opposite. Today the Israeli war machine, fueled by siege mentality, feeds on the antisemitism birthed out of its entrails

A reddish-brown dog makes space for himself, pushing away from a weathered looking hockey mask. Meanwhile, an orange kitten inspects the same mask closely, perhaps hoping to don it herself.
Picture of the dedication page from The Angel of Indian Lake by Stephen Graham Jones. It reads
βfor this kid named Jason.
I would have swam out for you, man.
we all would have.β
Happy Friday the 13th everybody. Was showing the kiddos the true meaning of the holiday today.
Also hereβs one of the best book dedications ever from The Angel of Indian Lake by Stephen Graham Jones.

For many Black women, the Target boycott is not over. It may never be.
A faith leader announced the end of a yearlong βTarget fast,β but many Black women who helped launch the boycott say the movement wasnβt his to call off.
Better article re: the #TargetBoycott
"The company confirmed to USA Today that itβs making no new commitments or reversals on its DEI policy."
and
"Black women across the country are reminding people that they started the boycott β and theyβll decide when it ends."

the accessibility is what's dangerous. i come from a time where you had to seek out a bookie to bet. it was probably better that way. also, as someone whose life was basically ruined by a gambling addict, i'm afraid for all those people whose lives are going to turn upside down

hand up for me on this as well.
I was pro-legalization for a bunch of reasons that were naive in retrospect and I sent way too many "I'm betting on an obscure sporting event π€ͺπ€ͺπ€ͺ and you can too!" posts
I didn't anticipate how quickly gambling would rot through everything it touched

I stopped gambling (mostly) last year and the way the books hound you with notifications/emails to Get Back In The Game should 100% be illegal
like if Coors could text drinkers "15 days since your last beer ... sounds like you need an ice cold Coors Light" and also their phone could give them a beer

Sports gambling should be legal but you should have to go to an actual building to do it and it should be so off-putting and sad youβll never want to do it again
