I started Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng by Kylie Lee Baker over the weekend. Started it yesterday & couldn't stop reading. The first chapter is amazing, and it just. Does. Not. Stop. Beautifully written, amazing characters, and fucking terrifying. On Kindle Unlimited if that's your jam.
Last night @bwnash.bsky.social was like, oh, here's a new horror movie you might like called Sinners. I checked to see if I'd have to go to Asheville to see it, and it's playing in our dinky small-town theater. Y'ALL. What a fun, scary ride this movie is!

How was my day? A patron yelled at and abused me until I a) called our director (unprecedented); and b) burst into tears (not unprecedented but quite rare.) This was all over a baby shower being held in our program room.

I canceled my Amazon Prime membership. Deleted the 'gram. Heading off FB and Messenger as soon as I wrap up a few loose ends. Pounding out some letters to senators tomorrow. Let's focus and take these fuckers down or die on the right side of history.
After thinking some more, I retract my statement about Blink Twice being feminist. But it's an interesting, entertaining movie. Certainly light years better than Trap, the last horror movie I watched before this.
