I've worked in Medicaid-funded facilities & w/ lots of low-income clients. It's true - many of them (1) don't know they're on Medicaid (2) how Medicaid is paid for and (3) have been so poor-shamed and lied to they call other folks "welfare queens." Abject, inexcusable failure by generations of Dems.
people also don't realize--and the media is doing nothing to teach them--that a hell of a lot of hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes depend on Medicaid to stay open. Cuts of this magnitude will kill local health care for lots of people on private insurance who still think this doesn't affect them
