Alright, here’s everything else that will go live in about 40 minutes! :) Patches, small embroidery pieces, and the last sticker and print I made for my snail mail club!

Thank you so much for liking what I make! I am proud to share it with you. ♥️

1990 flyer that reads: PROTEST POLICE
REPRESSION
MEET AT PEOPLE'S PARK...TUES. NOV. 27
AT NOON FOR A RALLY AND MARCH
Early in November, Oska Hermasa, & respected senior member of the Berkeley community and Berkeley Police Review Commissioner, in the role of legal observer requested the badge numbers of officers Braunecker And Sifuentes of the UCPD. They responded to his request by body slamming him to
the ground, cracking a rib. He was handcuffed and arrested on the charge of interfering with a police
officer in the line of duty. Those duties consisted of rousting homeless people under new guidelines for People's Park.
On November 8, 300 people attended a speakout and
march to the UC cop shop, which ended with 11 arrests on trespassing charges.
Since these actions, the level of police repression has greatly iscreased. Witnesses and protestors have been harassed and intimidated. copwatchers have been verbally abused and arrested in retaliation.
Braunecker And Sifuentes have continued to brutalize the community, including clubbing anti-war protestors and beating up a well-know homeless activist. Oska is scheduled for arraignment on Nov.
27, 2 PM at the Berkeley Courthouse (2120 MLK
Vay). Come out to support Oska. Defend your right to observe the cops!!!

We Are Marching To The Court House With These Demands:
* Drop The Charges Against Osha Neumann.
* Fire Braunecker And Sifuentes.
* Stop The Repression Against The Homeless.
* Drop The Charges Against The Sproul Steps 11.

A 1990 flyer from the first group to call themselves a Cop Watch in Berkeley, California. It’s a call to action after police attacked a legal observer. The struggles of today are always in continuity with the resistance of the past!

Left: an almost-square centered of a very figurative azalea flower. The border is a desaturated dark reddish-brown, the flower a pale wine, with desaturated petals on the corners.

Right: on blue fabric with painted mountain outlines, stylized bamboos with pale green-blue to pale-yellow through white thread.

Yesterday's #crossstitch projects

A desaturated interpretation of an azalea pattern (yup, NOT a sakura flower) and bamboos with gradient thread on hand-dyed fabric.

She wears a black N95c silver jewelry, a black shirt with a screen print of the three arrows, and a blue and red tartan kilt-style skirt with a leather trans flag keychain off one of the belt loops. Her vending table is very bright and colorful, with displays of stickers, patches, embroideries and prints.

Yesterday’s Solidarity Pop-Up was a success! Grateful for Whiteaker Community Market for organizing, The Hybrid for hosting, and Equiano for the much needed caffeination.

I sold three tatreez patches for $35, and all of that is going to my friend Dua’a in Gaza!

This was a big job to take on as my re-introduction to theatre after nearly a decade apart from the industry, but I’m so happy to be back! Now for the treacherous task of figuring out how to balance this with the rest of my life!

A closeup of what appears to be an old-school ghost light, tucked away in a storage area. It’s a single bulb on a metal rod, with a metal cage around the bulb. Its purpose is to be left on when the theatre is empty, to appease the spirits of the building and to protect shows from curses. Nowadays, a lot of theatres now have a single LED light above the stage to serve this purpose.

This show was so rewarding to see come together in such a short period of time. I’m so grateful for the entire cast and crew, and of course, everybody who came out to see it! I wasn’t familiar with Urinetown before I stepped into the production, and quickly fell in love with it.

A wide angle picture taken from the tech booth and looking towards a stage with an unfinished set on it. The theatre has a rounded wooden ceiling, as it was once a barn. The light board and its monitor are centered in the photo, with lots of sliders for each lighting circuit. Below are notes, a computer mouse, and a large drawing of where each numbered circuit is above the audience and the stage.

Theatre Appreciation Post! Icymi, I spent the better part of January as part of the lighting team for VLT’s production of Urinetown. I hung lights, helped design the color schemes and cues used in the show, took lots of notes, and dabbled in light board operation!
