additionally, cards that deal direct damage a la lightning bolt would be very high picks because of how they effectively choke your opponents

and especially if this effect was symmetrical for all players, i think it would devolving into a game of whose on the play vs the draw. additionally any cards that gained life, like guide of souls, would shoot way way up in pick order as they effectively represent additional mana production

in my experience with my main cube, the conspiracy Sovereigns Realm proved to be too broken and too parasitic, with every deck that drafted it just being the 40 most busted cards with no lands. even in this case the life loss is negligible considering the advantage of always having perfect mana
