How Billionaires may have stolen the election (U.S. 2024). First meet Ballotproof. A program that takes in input images of the front and back sides of a ballot. Uses image analysis to determine which errors can prevent critical votes from being counted. Intended to help an individual scan their own ballot before sending it in, to ensure it's error-free. Red flags: Built 5 years ago by 4 students (one of whom was Ethan Shaotran, of DOGE). Uses a generation script (generate.py) to make semi-randomized sample ballots that fit certain satisfiability criteria. All image analysis client-side "to avoid any risk of data leakage" (meaning image only exists on the device it's on). What else could that ballot generating script be used for? Manipulation ballot images. Could be used to generate AI-verified ballot images. Instead of modifying actual votes in databases, ballot images could be swapped before tabulation. Next, Palantir develops AI and Secure erasures tools. Used for large-scale data manipulation and digital footprint erasure. Could be used to replace real ballot with AI-generated. Palantir is in partnership with Eaton Corporation, which in turn owns Tripp Lite, a supplier of uninterrupted power systems specifically used in federal elections. These are used to power election servers and ES&S tabulations, and a compromise could allow remote control and/or data erasure. This does not prove that election interference occurred. What it does do is present a technically feasible and ideologically-motivated scenario, and raises serious questions about the legitimacy of the current administration. Oh by the way...
