Yup. Leftovers. So last night was roast beef. Today, the leftover beef was cut up and cooked on the stove with potato, carrot, celery and stock. Seasoned and left to slowly cook until the veg is basically mush and the flavours all run through each other. It’s fantastic.

It became stovies. I don’t know if that translates outside Scotland but it’s a great use of leftovers…

Nothing to see here, just onions and garlic frying in some butter…

Robert Duvall. I really liked him as an actor, I always thought he was one of the best in any ensemble and shone brightly in all of his work. He was very, very good at his craft and he made me feel and react to his characters in a real way.

That’s about an hour from where I used to live. Now it’s a lot further but I was there this morning and just had to go and look at the waterfall. Very soothing for such a loud thing!
