Copilot suggested an in-place "upgrade" to go back to 25H2 release. Uh... NOPE! No can do. Stuck with this beta build and hope the next build fixes the Teams video issue. Teams Web client until then.

Tech junkie into computer/networking hardware, Microsoft .NET software development (trying to get deeper into anyway), SQA, automation, graphics and VFX (Lightwave3D), disc golf and music from many genres. Loved the Commodore 64 and Amiga days.

Taking a long shot. In place "upgrade" to 25H2. Great that "Getting updates" is taking > 20 minutes. Meh. Today's Windows experiences is making consider alternatives. Total wasted day.
I just know I've wasted a work day trying to fix this with NO resolution. Tried a great number of things. Teams on the web, no problem. Teams app? Foobar.
Now at the point I have no clue how to fix this Teams video issue. :\ Removed a couple registry keys and could install EdgeWebView2 and a test Teams call worked. Rebooted and back to the same issue. This is beyond frustrating.
And sure enough, "Something went wrong" translates to "Hey! We pooched your EdgeWebView2 install so your Teams video will be hosed! ROFLMAO!". Dammit, Jim! Back to Macrium Reflect to restore 'cause I can't force reinstall EdgeWebView2.
Gotta love this crap. Seriously. :( Whoever in Microsoft thinks "Something went wrong" is a good error message... WTF! VS2022 January 2026 update failed again.
Macrium Reflect to the rescue. Seems EdgeWebView2 got all wonky on 1/21 with EdgeWebView2 on the VS2022 update "Something went wrong". Restored to a 1/21 image and my Teams video issue is resolved.
Facing a weird problem with Teams. Incoming call video is grey. So is my camera preview. Yet I can use the Camera app or see the video in Team's camera settings. Windows 11 Insider Preview (Beta). Latest Nvidia drivers. Hmmm.
"Something went wrong." on a VS2002 update install is a most helpful message. Whatever "something" is...
Apparently one has to process orders on NameSecure one domain at a time vs multi-select now? Bananas.
About ready to give up on NameSecure. :\ Try to complete order... Get "There was an error with your last operation". NO clue what the error is.
I search for examples and most examples using the Unifi Network application has screenshots of older versions of the Network application. Sigh... My 2nd attempt at this endeavor. I must be losing it.
Losing my tech foo. Tried blocking port 53 for anything but piholes (and an allow rule to allow pihole dns access). Fine. DNS resolution on pihole and devices hitting them worked fine. Then tried setting up a DNAT rule to translate non-pihole requests TO the piholes. Nope. I'm doing something wrong.
$750/mo for health insurance minimum for 2026? How about I eat $900/year for California's lame-ass must have insurance policy instead. If it ISN'T affordable, I shouldn't be penalized for not having it!
The joy you feel when Edge is opened by another app which destroys all open tabs you once had never to get them back again. :(
Microsoft not allowing local account for Win10 Consumer Extended Security Updates? That's disappointing. Does Apple require an account for Mac Mini set-up? I'll have to research and switch my one Win10 system out with a Mac Mini.
Giving an IOCrest PCIe V4 x1 10Gbe NIC a shot. AMD 5950x x570 system. Slapped it in a x1 slot. Working like a champ so far. OpenSpeedTest container from a 10gbps Synology easily gets >9.5Mbps down and >8Mbps up. Now my GPU is running X16 and has breathing room w/ no X8 10Gbe NIC next to it.
Discovered the Windows Store Spotify app stopped working. I tried uninstalling only to not be able to install it again. I'm left with a Spotify icon in the start menu that's unusable and can't be removed. Not amused. See answers.microsoft.com/en-us/window...
Giving a 4 port HDMI KVM from @level1techs.bsky.social a whirl to see if EDID emulation helps when switching around. Got tired of Win11 resizing things with a display port KVM. So far, so good. Funky hotkeys tho... SCRLKx2+LCTRL then LCTRLx2+1,2,3, or 4? Using an old MaxKeyboard Falcon-8 to switch.
Needed to restore my main system. Discovered the Macrium Recovery media for the system had 2 partitions. One for V8 and another X. Only I couldn't boot into X. Reformatted & recreated. Then had a hard time than expected to get it to see the files off of Synology NAS share. I miss Netgear ReadyNAS!
Resolved the Macrium Reflect issue on one system by using the Synology NAS's IP address vs name. Today I find my main system's Reflect wigging out due to the license apparently having some issue. NGL, these issues are making me rethink using Reflect. But only other option is Acronis TrueImage.
Consequently, when I try to use CoPilot and try to sign in, the only two accounts available is my "work" account and somehow my "personal" account is also my work credentials. Sigh...
Windows pet peeve - When Windows "assumes" my personal computer should be tied to my work account all over the place simply because I use Teams linked to a work account. WTF, Microsoft!
This issue is making me consider trying Acronis TrueImage again.
Have verified share access for the specific users involved. Even enabled the guest account and access on a Synology DS1817+. Interactive backups work fine. A daily differential is not. Fun!
Battling an issue with Macrium Reflect on one system where it aborts a scheduled backup claiming it can not access a network share. When the schedule was created, it asked for share credentials and had no problem. These same credentials are in the default Network Share settings.
Pi-hole 6.0 has been released. Woot! pi-hole.net/blog/2025/02...
Would love to install GTA:V again for some offline/story mode play to let out some steam but I have NO interest in installing BattleEye.
I've been so out of the loop with Lightwave 3D. Plunked for the Force Awakens thing in 2023. Haven't kept track or downloaded newer versions. Just plunked the 2025 pre-order without realizing I probably didn't upgrade with 2024. I need to get myself back into some creative fun.
My Outlook issues were apparently because I was on a Microsoft 365 insider channel (beta?). I exited out of that and now see it "assumes" being tied to my work Microsoft 365 enterprise account. sigh
