Gentoo penguins at Edinburgh Zoo have been picking out pebbles hand-painted by children at a nearby hospital to present as a gift to a mate. The species is known to gather stones during breeding season to build nests

An EMD streamlined diesel locomotive in tangerine and silver Vicrail Teacup livery, with horizontal silver bands and a pair of silver lines in the shape of two crossovers forming a stylised letter V (or a teacup to some) against an orange or tangerine background paintjob, hauls a set of passenger carriage in a similar livery away from a platform at a city terminal station.

Today’s historic pic: Exactly 40 years ago today, double-ended streamliner B74 in VicRail tangerine and silver ‘Teacup’ livery hauls a VLine train away from Spencer Street station, Melbourne, March 10 1986. Six-month-old N451 and one of her early N class sisters (N452-N457) are visible at right.

Still quite sore today so will be resting after work. Very frustrating but a couple of days off shouldn’t hurt.

Day 2/4 at work, 05:23 to 13:43. Pass to Harwich, get one out of the yard and take it to Harwich Town before working it to London and back to Clacton. I then have a break and either bring back another empty train or pass home 👍

Definitely. An extra rest day if needed will be more beneficial than running on sore legs and making them worse.

My legs are in absolute bits today, have tried some walking, some foam rolling and a recovery ride on Zwift. Hopefully they’ll have loosened up a bit by tomorrow otherwise it’ll be a rest day.
