That happened to me a few weeks ago. My daughter and I did a tour of NYU and it was all outdoors. She was like “I hate this school can we go inside now?”

Article in comments because still don’t know how to use BlueSky!
I tried, I really tried to find a silver lining in the news out of WaPo and the Kennedy Center this week. But then I gave myself permission to just be sad. And I thought the rest of my community deserved that grace too. I wrote this hoping it would be a big virtual hug to all of us who are hurting.
Yes!
I attended Trump’s Kennedy Center Honors so you didn’t have to. Here are my unfiltered observations. Buckle in and enjoy! 😉 dctheaterarts.org/2025/12/12/i...
Well, this might provide some context! dctheaterarts.org/2025/12/12/i...
Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you so much! 😊
DC's theater community lost several spaces & events this year. In response, a few theater-makers & two actors turned activists successfully found new stages & launched new festivals to fill the would-be gaps. A great piece from @nicolehertvik.bsky.social

My favorite part of the new Superman movie was when the journalists were fleeing for their lives in a space ship with a monster chasing them and still took the time to have the editor fact check the article before ok’ing it for publishing.
Apparently the entire run is sold out, so they are either doing something right and/or people really like the Netflix show. Here is my Washington City Paper review of “Kim’s Convenience” at Olney Theatre Center. It’s a super cute show. washingtoncitypaper.com/article/7671...
Composer Joe Iconis is a kind and humble black-clad unicorn who spreads rainbows of love through words and music. I got to chat with Joe and cast members about the Hunter S. Thompson Musical. Here’s to making the world a better place with your own brand of weirdness. This show is great. Go see it!
Time to live life like you’re about to get lovingly preserved for eternity by Mount Vesuvius
If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:
1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long
All lies.
Thank you, Gina!
Woman in pink MAGA hat watches Shear Madness at the Kennedy Center
I hadn't planned to write about the shitstorm at the Kennedy Center but in a strange twist of fate, my daughter asked to see Shear Madness last week. So I wrote some words. I guess it's an op-ed? I would love for you to read it and me know what you think.

We are COOL Steinbeck fans, ok? Cool!!! 😂
This feels like a good time to share that my daughter and I found a homeless cat last year and named her Rose-a-Sharn bc we were reading the Grapes of Wrath and thought she was pregnant. Whenever she walks into a room we yell “here comes Rose-a-Sharn!” in our best Dustbowl accents. Endless enjoyment
Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements
“Those nasty Canadians are ripping us off and are controlled by Mexican cartels. They’re poisoning us with fentanyl and need to become the 51st state or they will pay a high price” is a belief that literally ZERO Americans had six weeks ago. It’s entirely invented from scratch.
Some provisionally good news: due to the recent court injunctions, the NEA is backing off making grant applicants certify that they don't engage in DEI work or "gender ideology."
Unclear what the future holds for any of this, as the injunctions are preliminary. But for now, that's good news.
Reminder that there are more active cases of measles in the US than there are trans athletes in the NCAA.
Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez. Bezos is in a tight fitting shirt, heart-shaped sunglasses, tight white pants, and a white belt. The shirt has a red, gold, and blue pattern in the style of a kitchen backsplash. Sánchez is in a two-piece, sparkly outfit.
aint no way we cut medicaid and housing assistance so jeff bezos could buy this shirt
Omg love this. I need to sheet cake today!
Wow that’s awesome! Congratulations, Brittani!
