I hope they’ll release a budget version of the Switch 2 alongside the Gen 10 games, like they did with the Switch Lite and Sword & Shield. That would put a much smaller dent in my bank account. (And then I could play Pokopia!)

Okay, but now I'm speculating wildly that they're going to announce a Switch remake of Gold/Silver/Crystal, and they're putting FRLG on the eShop so newer players will understand the context of Gen II. Here's hoping!
Gen II remains my favorite. I played my Silver and Crystal games for hours on end and went through so many AA batteries. I even had one of those little lights that attached to the Game Link port on the side of the GBC, so I could play at night. Weird to remember the days before backlighting!
