You will still be able to find Marybeth volunteering with us in the future when able, but we are so thankful to have had her leadership and good vibes over the past 6 years! (5/5) #amswomen #ams2025 #amsbraid #womeninstem
During her time on the Womenβs committee, she has found the community and sense of belonging has brought her the most joy (especially during the Annual Meeting events). If you havenβt made it to one of our events, Marybeth ensures you βour events provide an immediate sense of belongingβ! (4/5)
Outside of working hours, she loves paddle boarding (when it is warm outside!) and running in tutus. ππ» Though Marybeth has recently stepped down to make space for new leadership opportunities, she remains active in the AMS community co-chairing BRAIDβs Accessibility Committee! (3/5)
Our first spotlight is Marybeth Arcodia who has been on the committee for 6 years (2019β2025). On the day-to-day you can find Marybeth at Colorado State University (go π!) where she works as a Research Scientist I in climate variability and predictability. (2/5)
After sharing an amazing @ametsoc.bsky.social Annual Meeting with everyone and meeting so many new faces in NOLA, we thought it would be a great time to introduce the amazing women that make events like the workshop and luncheon possible! Follow this thread to meet our first member spotlight! (1/5)
Today is the day! Make your way over to room 208 in the Morial Convention Center at 1:45 PM CT for 'Women in the Field: Navigating Gender Dynamics in Extreme Weather Pursuits' with the @ams-women.bsky.social and @girlswhochase.com.
