So many times in that game I just punched through a puzzle before even realizing it was a puzzle. What if my attempts to take shortcuts just caused 10 other problems to pop up? The game probably would have been an all-timer for me.

It just hit me why I found the destruction so dull in DK Bananza. Thereβs no unintended consequences. Tunnels donβt cave in. Towers donβt topple over. Everything you break just leaves a perfect hole of nothing for you to travel through. Destruction needs to be chaotic.
I bought Pokopia because I am enamored with the tile-based world of classic Pokemon and I bought Dragon Quest Builders because I am enamored with the tile-based world of classic Dragon Quest, but in truth it can be hard for me to summon the enthusiasm to build things on other peopleβs platforms.
I donβt particularly like Taco Bell but I think itβs funny that society has at least one fast food restaurant that is intentionally and transparently dedicated to inventing culinary crimes.
My problem with pretty much all building/decorating games is that the social aspect is a big part of what I find enjoyable about them, but I play at such a glacial pace compared to everybody I know.
Nobody watches movies any more, what we need is highly episodic kids cartoon spinoffs of prestige TV shows to keep the brand alive while the main series makes 8 episodes every three years.
On a normal non-creative game I can lock in but ask me to add a decoration to the world and I will agonize for two days over if a flowerpot should be five or six inches from the door.

Episode 3βs soundtrack is another mind-blowing leap forward, and it makes it even funnier that Episode 3 is the card game spinoff.
they're putting this girl in situations
Iβm still kind of invested in my New Horizons town so Iβm a little conflicted that Pokopia turned out to secretly be New Horizons 2.
happy international women's day
I donβt understand why they never made an asynchronous online game where like your aunt is playing F2P FarmVille and then you pay up front for an βadventureβs kitβ and use the stuff she grows to tackle dungeons or whatever.
You canβt write NPC dialogue like Earthbound just by studying Earthbound. You have to actually go out in public and talk to all the insane people who think they are normal.
Seto Kaiba is such a funny character, guy was disgusted that his fatherβs company made weapons but then casually hires a serial killer to off the guy who beat him in a card game and his friends.
Sorry if this ruffles feathers, but I have always strongly believed in maintaining the deeply human connection of obtaining food. Itβs one thing if the restaurant has its own delivery drivers, but in my opinion using DoorDash and GrubHub is anti-humanity. They will erode your soul.

Hmm perhaps my love of Sonic the Hedgehog is performative at this point and I am just desperately trying to cling to personhood by actively devoting myself to nostalgic interests I used be passionate aboutβ *listens to 2 seconds of Sonic music* Nevermind
If I ever did a real top 9/10/25/50 games list, I would have to include a "runner up" or "alternate" system, where every individual entry has another game from the same series/genre that I *almost* picked in place of it. There are too many all-time faves where I can't choose between 2 similar ones.
My brain is so fucking fried I've played FF7 up to Golden Saucer like 3 times now because I keep forgetting what I'm doing

Itoi: But so-called arcade games have a vibe similar to gay magazines. It's a closed world, a world outsiders don't understand, where like-minded people gather as their circle shrinks. Like narrowing concentric circles. So I think it's really important that what I did this time with MOTHER went in a different direction. --- Quote from this interview https://shmuplations.com/itoimiyamoto/
Shigesato Itoi back in 1989 casually calling arcade game fans homosexuals. If only he knew how right he was....
Donβt you love how Undertale, one of the most popular and successful videogames of all time, included a blatant message against completionism and FOMO and it just went over 100% of peopleβs heads?
Am I allowed to have problematic dreams and aspirations that have been informed by the corrupt and imperfect civilization in which I grew up entwined?
It bugs me to no end that none of the King of the Hill Boomhauer compilation videos understand that the punchline to every Boomhauer joke is HOW PEOPLE RESPOND TO HIM.
Browser Super Monkey Ball now has online multiplayer!

Help I really need to play other games but I love living in Vana'diel too much
