"AI is coming for your jobs."
"AI is coming for your jobs."
Never underestimate the ability of an economics "reporter" to look at people who have missed two meals and claim everything will be fine, no one has ever rioted after missing the third.
Cool story Elisabeth but have you considered the following:
*pulls cord and a shroud falls, revealing a massive guillotine*
When Twitter was a thing during his first term, the visual arts circles I ran with were constantly in shock at how truly awful everything his team touched was.
Despots detest art. They will claim love for "traditional" arts (whatever that means) but have no knowledge or technical understanding of it
I'm still unclear whether this is expert level satire or if she's foolish enough to think the Uncanny Valley is something that can just be crossed.
Didn't expect the Supreme Court to have more backbone than Senate Democrats this week but here we are.
People gripe that their leaders are "corrupt" and then offer from zero to next-to-nothing stipends and wonder why the government is full of only wealthy old white guys.
If you want We The People to run the government, we have to be paid.
Growing up in the midwest in the '90s, there were water features and waterfalls everywhere. Malls, department stores, restaurants, airports, corporate plazas...everyone had them.
Now they've all vanished. It feels like that's a story that needs to be told.
We have to keep these things separate to have freedom, and that comes from local people having direct control over our lives.
Otherwise, we bend the knee to the whims of two national parties from which we must beg blessing, and at the end of the day they are owned by billionaires and pedophiles.
What someone in a city race thinks about the federal tax code does not matter in the slightest.
It very much matters what they think about potholes, pavement, police, and public transit.
City races are about highly specific community issues. We don't need to dilute those very important conversations with national policy points.
There should *never* be a letter designating zoological affiliation next to any city level race. County, state, and federal folks should mind their business and keep their endorsements to themselves.
There's been a lot of talk about the higher ups and national groups who did and didn't endorse local candidates and "what that means."
Here's my brief take having run and won City races: keep your national politics the fuck out of my elections.
Larger frame means more metal which means a bit more scrap value.
Or it’s a statistical blip.
But also we can’t discount Big Bird needing extra cash in the wake of PBS being defunded.
When people choose to rely on social media instead of local news organizations, and choose to be ignorant rather than educate themselves on local elections, this is the result.
Eric is getting dangerously close to completing the "So Far Right It's Left" circle.
Which makes it insane to give the keys to someone who promises to crash the car.
It makes it doubly insane when we realize we actually need to use the street but can't because there's a 47 car pileup caused from the guy we gave the keys to in the first place.
Systems are built on the principle assumption that everyone wants the system to function effectively.
In this way, a government is like a city street. We get away with a simple stripe of paint to keep people from crashing because people don't want to crash.
I'm not saying the Republicans are grossly incompetent nazi thugs, I'm just saying laying off 2.2M, starving 45M, and stopping payments for contracts worth 24% of annual GDP isn't going to end well for any party in power in any nation at any point in time of history.
The average age of a sitting US Senator is more than the theory of plate tectonics.
8/10 of MO-7 Rep Burlison’s last Facebook posts have the “laugh” emoji as the top response in case you’re wondering how well toe sucking for the Trump agenda is doing in “deep-red” southwest Missouri.
We've gone from the WH lying that "none of the current building" would be destroyed to the entire thing being razed and the gullible are still out there repeating "this won't cost the taxpayer a dime."
The convicted felon who also went bankrupt 4 times is bad at managing the world's greatest economy?
Funny that.
One of the key under-reported drivers of people finding "AI" generated slop acceptable, in my opinion, is the fact that 54% of adults read below the 6th grade level.
Amazon wants to replace over half a million workers and it only saves the consumer thirty cents per item?
So they're actually saying they could *add* thirty cents per item and **DOUBLE** workers salaries.
By the President's own math: we're in week 3 of his shutdown. $45B in lost wages/productivity.
43k in predicted job losses in the private sector.
All because elected Republicans want to kick 20 million hard working Americans off of their health insurance plans.
Insane and incompetent cruelty.
Crazy to think while we have an unhinged lunatic word-vomiting to millions on a social media site he owns we were once petrified at the idea that a President owned a BlackBerry.
You're callin' a film with Jennifer Connelly in it that involves punching nazis bad?
We're gonna throw hands over this.
😉
I strongly urge people to follow the example of our President. Have an annual physical and get your flu and covid vaccines.
Having been to COTA for the USGP, it's wild how F1 promotes the cowboy schtick as if that's the vibe.
I spent the whole weekend away from the track in bars playing sludge metal and the team logos were everywhere.
There's definitely something for everyone in Austin.
