A short, thin woman in dark slacks and a light blue jacket, with chin-length brown hair and stooped shoulders, stands behind a podium, her hands clasped on its surface. Behind her, projected on the domed wall, is an enormous photograph of life underwater with a seal. A staffwoman from the Maui Ocean Center holds a mic and hosts the Q&A period
What a thrillβto meet one of my all-time heroes! Sylvia Earle, "Her Deepness," the first woman to walk on the sea floor, the first woman chief scientist at NOAA. Now 92, she is small, with a quiet voice, but what a powerhouse for the sea!
"No water, no life. No blue, no green."
Landscape view of a gentle rising mountain in the far distance, with bright blue water resting calm and peaceful around and in front of it. The mountain is topped with billowing white clouds that look like they might have more rain in them. Green trees and shrubs frame the view in the foreground and along the left side. The sky is vivid blue.
Sunshine after rain.
Peace.
A light blue nudibranch viewed from above. It has an irregular black stripe on each side and two small black marks on its back. It is covered in white tubercles, some of which have yellow tops. The rhinopores are also yellow. It is crawling over a sandy seabed. #UnderwaterPhotography #MacroPhotography #Macro #Wildlfie #WildlifePhotography

Hereβs the behind-the-scenes tour of how the design came to be.

A large great gray owl flies towards the light of the setting sun, its eyes and facial disc lit up in a rosy gold hue.
I'm late to the party (it's been a busy weekend) but I had to post at least one #SuperbOwl before calling it a day :) #birds πΏ

The fascists aren't having fun. [yes I remind you of this weekly because it is true].
Your pottery is brilliant, Mia! So enjoying looking at every piece. So far so fast! I spent 10 years at it and never got anywhere this confident in it. Just beautiful.

How long does it take to move past the mind-body split of Descartes? In my case, a lifetime.
Some wisdom from mushrooms and from a bougainvillea I knew long ago about stepping toward a world of kinship.

Amy Westervelt says one nation at COP30 brought it:
βThe most inspirational action came fromβ¦the small but mighty Colombian delegation, the only one whose negotiators and civil society groups were unified in their call for one primary goal: a commitment to phase out fossil fuels.β

Where is your refutation of the ETA data? I'd like to review it, please.
As far as I can tell, nothing in the PA letter refutes the evidence presented by ETA or even directly addresses it. And who are you referring to when you say "our" data, please?
Did Americans really vote for this? I needed to know. So I pored over statistical reports from @electiontruthalliance.org.
Here's what I found: it's worse than I'd heard! Evidence of vote manipulation across multiple states.

Because owl.
To stand up to fascism, the most important thing we can do, every day, is to plant ourselves firmly in what is true. And yes, we all have the ability to see clearly and know what is true. Though getting there takes a little practice.
