I'd want to know what they think, what they're hearing. Then I'd make it clear that this current government is against everything your family believes in (if that's true) but that your kids are safe and you will all be ok and make it through this. We’re not letting it be the end. One thing positive about getting older (and no longer having very young kids) is that you know in your heart that whatever is happening is temporary. Kids change out of troubling behaviors. We change our patterns with them. Life around us changes. Nothing is “fixed.”
