Get rid of the AI search bar.
Get rid of the AI fish.
Get rid of the AI summaries.
Get rid of the AI chat bot.
Get rid of the auto AI recordings.

Slop doesn't belong in language learning and students and teachers don't want it.

iTalki now added to the list of language learning apps to avoid/delete.

The *only* way we push back against AI (in this case to non-consensually record audio!) is to refuse to use it.

What the helly happened to language apps?
I know Duolingo decided to go soulless with AI but almost EVERY other app I've looked into has incorporated some kind of AI course or chatbot.

I don't wanna speak Spanish with a robot, and once I see generated use in their content it feels SUS!!!

but that's one aspect I really love about forums, especially on Gaia, you can really go for more self expression in your writing and post style!

I'll have to peep around the RP forums, from memory they were always very pretty to look at!

New accounts on #GaiaOnline may have noticed their forum posts can be hard to read, esp with quotes.

I was initially really confused and upset but that was before I realised it's to dissuade toxic users from making accounts to post nasty stuff.

To be honest, I'm not looking for a "perfect" solution to replace Discord. I just want an alternative that works better for me, the community I want to keep, and adjacent communities.

But, this will take trial and error NOT a one and done attempt. We're attempting to replace a communication METHOD.
